Fincastle, VA – On May 8, 2015, on behalf of the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors, Chairman Donald “Mac” Scothorn signed a proclamation declaring May to be Business Appreciation Month in Botetourt. In doing so, Botetourt officials signaled their sincere gratitude to the more than 1700 businesses that operate throughout the County. The Governor of Virginia has also issued a similar declaration, calling special attention to those businesses that have chosen Virginia as their home, from which they impact the world.
“It gives me great pleasure to recognize the contributions of the hardworking men and women of our business community,” said Scothorn. “From small businesses to large industries, our businesses help define the success of our community.”
The proclamation will be read at the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner on May 18 as a sign of continued partnership. Moreover, to continue the appreciation and support efforts of the County, Botetourt’s Economic Development Office will be launching a newsletter highlighting workshops, services, and resources of special interest to the business community.
