Botetourt County Prepares for Ebola
Fincastle, VA – Local fire and emergency medical services personnel have been actively engaged with regional, state, and national organizations to help ensure that Botetourt County crews are trained, equipped, and prepared should something such as Ebola become a reality in the area.
For the past week personnel have attended meetings, webinars, and conference calls to ensure that personnel are up-to-date on the latest information and recommendations on how to handle such rare situations.
“Emergency response personnel are on the frontlines when things like this occur. It is our goal to ensure that those on the frontlines are properly equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely and efficiently handle the situation,” said Chief of Fire and EMS Jeff Beckner.
