Mill Creek Precinct Changes Voting Location
Fincastle, VA — The Botetourt County Office of Voter Registration and Elections announces the change in location of the Mill Creek precinct in the Buchanan Magisterial District. Effective with the November 4, 2014 General Election, voters in the Mill Creek precinct will cast their ballots at Mill Creek Baptist Church, located at 11475 Lee Hwy, Fincastle, VA.
The physical location of the precinct was moved two years ago when new construction began at Mill Creek Baptist Church and voters went to Wheatland Lutheran Church on Election Day. The Electoral Board and Registrar appreciate the generosity of the Wheatland Lutheran congregation to accommodate the temporary move. With construction complete, voters will again go to Mill Creek Baptist Church using the new fellowship hall. Parking is available in the front near Lee Highway and in the rear of the building. An elevator is available for voters who enter on the lower level.
All voters in the Mill Creek precinct will be receiving a new voter information card in the mail. Please save the card as it has valuable information on precinct location. A new photo ID law will be in effect for this election which requires voters to show a valid photo ID. Acceptable ID includes: valid Virginia Drivers License, US Passport, Employee photo ID card, a DMV-issued ID card, other government issued photo ID card, or a valid Virginia college or university student photo ID card (valid means it is current or has been expired for no more than 12 months). Voters without a photo ID can visit the Office at 2 East Main St. in Fincastle from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, to have a free photo ID made for voting purposes. Please call the Office at 473-8235 if you have any questions about the precinct location change or photo ID requirements.
