Kiwanis Electronics and Documents Recycling Event
Start Date: 04/30/2016 at 8:30 a.m. End Date: 04/30/2016 at 1:00 p.m.
On the driving range/south parking lot of LBHS, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, you will able to safely dispose of your old personal documents such as taxes, medical records or old checks. You can watch your household records being destroyed on-site with no concern about anyone ever being able to use them.
Also you can dispose of your unused computers and components, telephones, printers, copiers, VCR’s, microwave ovens, stereos, radios, and small appliances such as toasters, microwaves, mixers etc. We are not able to accept “white goods” such as refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washers and dryers. This service is furnished through Goodwill Industries of the Valleys for Dell Computers.
In the previous six years of this annual Kiwanis event, over 55 tons of materials have been processed by citizens coming from 20 different zip codes all over the valley.
There is no charge for these community services provided through the Key Club of Lord Botetourt High School and the Kiwanis Club of Botetourt County in conjunction with the Botetourt County Division of Solid Waste andGoodwill Industries of the Valleys.
A collection box will be available for contributions to the Kiwanis International program “PROJECT ELIMINATE”, a joint effort of Kiwanis International and UNICEF to eliminate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). This dreaded disease causes a child to die an excruciating death every 9 minutes. The series of three injections to immunize the mother costs only $1.80. YOU can help.
